I second the fasting thing -- it sounds crazy but totally does make me feel better (in non weight related ways, too). I couldn't do the Catherine-style full day without melting down, but I often did a 16-hour one (nothing between 8pm and 12pm the next day -- basically, just skipping breakfast) once or twice a week and that worked well for me.


The Paleo thing has never worked for me, probably due to my love of granola. But I've been having some success with its evil mirror twin, flexitarianism. I'm reserving meat for only a few (read: 3-5) meals a week, and otherwise sticking to vegetarian and, on occasion, fish. The weight isn't dropping off (unsurprising since I'm also on a weightlifting kick) but I do feel better.
