It kind of looks like your elbows are too far apart.


Oh yeah? I was hoping you'd chime in! I figure you'd have good advice...I'll try putting them closer together. Anything else?


Not really -- the psychological barrier you mentioned is right on, and hard to overcome. Do you have your palms against the back of your head? That may help.

Have you tried tripod headstand? It's usually easier for guys (triceps) but maybe it'll be easier for you, and help with the sensation of being upside down.
