Truly, Charlottesville is a magical town. I think I'd say that even if I hadn't spent 4 idyllic college years there. Every time I go back for a weekend, I feel happy, invigorated, rested, inspired. Something about the rolling hills of central Virginia really pull you in. (Or maybe it's all the delicious wine, beer and food you can get down there, too.)
My entire family (plus my brother's fiancee) recently spent a weekend in Charlottesville for my mom's birthday and we had a lovely time. If you don't follow me on Instagram, here are some snapshots I took. I think you'll agree, Charlottesville is an eminently Instagrammable place.

Lived in Virginia for last two years, and have not yet visited Charlottesville. Those hills in your Vineyards shot seem incredibly peaceful. Might make for a pleasant visit this summer. Do you recommend any place for an overnight stay (bed and breakfast-esque)?

I stayed in a place called Leathers B&B in downtown Charlottesville last spring and had a perfectly nice time!
