1. There is a gaping hole inside the foggy bottom station creating a monsoon/flood. 2. All of the escalators are broken, creating a backup of hundreds of people. 3. Frustrated man rips down gate blocking escalator and bolts up the stairs. 4. People cheer, "go metro riders! Reclaim the stations!" 5. A new metro hero is born.
This is my neighborhood.
And my basement apartment is covered in 4 inches of standing water. Sigh. Can't wait to see what weather phenomenon fall brings. In the meantime, what's the least weather-ally active part of the country? I would like to move there.
Anywhere on the Northern Pacific coast! I mean, it rains 50% of the time, but otherwise it's always around 60 degrees and all that rain has somewhere to go so it rarely floods.

I'm visiting Seattle/Portland in October. I suspect I'll walk away from there wanting to stay!
