here's my situation: i'm leaving for a trip to wyoming in about three weeks. this is going to be a very great trip. i fly into denver, go see my grandparents in laramie for a couple days, then move on to a week of hiking, camping, and wedding-ing in jackson hole with my dear friends from when we lived in italy. all of them! claire, cynthia, carla, natania, and bethrothed robin: i couldn't be more excited to see you guys.
so, that's all good. the thing is: i'm finding it beyond impossible to rent a car for a denver to laramie to jackson hole excursion for under, believe it or not, $130 a day. DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THAT IS FOR A WEEK? i can't do math so good but A LOT!
so i'm doing what i always do in times of crisis: turning to the internet. it's become quite clear to me by now that i should have just flown directly into laramie, but, oh well. so anyways: does anybody have any insider knowledge on how to get from these places to the others? i'll take a shuttle! i'll take a train! i'll even, shudder, take greyhound.
the internet is not turning so much up in terms of shuttle/bus/train info, etc, from either place to/from laramie (surprise, considering approximately 5 people live there). but if you even have an inkling of any sort of public transportation that could get me from denver to laramie, and/or laramie to jackson hole, it'd be much appreciated.
Looks like there's a Greyhound pretty much straight from Denver to Laramie that takes about 2.5 hours. Probably your best bet.
Laramie to Jackson Hole is a bit trickier. There's technically a Greyhound route, but it leaves at 2:15 a.m., travels through 4 different states with two layovers, and takes 30 hours.
If you can get yourself to Salt Lake City (Greyhound goes there from Laramie without a bus change), there's a daily shuttle that will take you to Jackson Hole.
The Greyhound to SLC only leaves twice a day from Laramie, and the shuttle to Jackson Hole is only once a day, so the scheduling might get tricky, but it looks possible.

Then sell it in Jackson for $500.
Seriously.
